PRESS RELEASE
19/06/2008 – Home Delivery Co launches new SMS booking service
Following a successful 6 month trial leading UK furniture logistics
supplier, Home Delivery Co, has introduced its new SMS booking
service to all of its Home Delivery clients.
As part of the service customers at home are automatically sent
a text message by HomeTr@k* once their order is planned for delivery.
Within standard messages customers are advised of the date of
the delivery along with the relevant time slot and are requested
to accept or refuse the booking. Where no response is received
a follow up call is made by the customer service team to arrange
the booking.
Customers contacted by SMS are also sent a link to HomeTr@k
inviting them to review their order and provide further details
in relation to the delivery (restricted access etc).
Significantly the text incorporated as part of the message can
be varied from retailer to retailer and can also be scheduled
at varying times within the delivery cycle (from receipt of order
by the factory through to final booking for delivery). The SMS
service can also be used as a tool in its own right being sent
as a payment reminder to customers at home or indeed as a customer
service check following delivery of an order.
Justin Pope, Home Delivery Co Customer Service Director commented ‘The
trial of the SMS booking service proved to be extremely successful
with over 70% of the bookings attempted being responded to by
the end customer’.
He added ‘Our retail customers have been extremely enthusiastic
towards the new system and several are already planning to introduce
text specific to their own requirements.’
* HomeTr@k is a market leading stock management / tracking system
available to all Home Delivery Co customers.
